Job Description
Responsible for the configuration, implementation, and maintenance of various technologies managed by the Information Technology department. This person will focus on the administration of the network infrastructure to include desktop PC’s, servers, network equipment, and software applications. The Systems Administrator will assess and identify appropriate solutions to be integrated into the systems operation and make recommendations for implementation.
Role and Responsibilities
- Monitors and maintains the use of the company IT hardware resources
- Develops, maintains, and monitors procedures for all server backups
- Monitors, plans, and coordinates the distribution of client/server software and service packs
- Makes recommendations for new equipment and services to purchase and works with various vendors for procurement
- Perform on-site and remote technical support
- Co-ordinates the Helpdesk functionality of the company
- Maintains excellent communication with superiors on all tasks and projects.
- Creates and maintains good technical documentation.
- Ensure that the server rooms are operating at optimum efficiency at all times
- Other reasonable duties and responsibilities within the overall function, which may be assigned from time to time
Other Responsibilities (risk related)
- Maintain a comprehensive overview of the processes within the section and report any key business risks across all levels to the Chief Executive Officer promptly
- Assist management to develop, communicate and instill a risk management culture
- Encourage/motivate colleagues in Risk management principles and practices
Qualifications
- 3-5 years experience supporting Windows-based servers
- Experience creating & running PowerShell scripts
- DNS, DHCP, FTP configuration and troubleshooting
- IIS – site configuration, SSL provisioning and installation, troubleshooting
- Performance troubleshooting
- Networking concepts and network devices
- Server hardware components
- Administration of Windows Active Directory
- SQL Server administration tasks and troubleshooting
- Microsoft clustering, replication and related technologies (AD and SAN)
- Hyper-V administration
Desirable Skills
- Microsoft Certifications (MCP, MCSA)
- Microsoft InTune experience
- Azure Cloud services
- Administration of Office 365
- Database experience with Oracle
- Microsoft SharePoint
- Disaster Recovery Design & Implementation
